The load on the SIN is expected to change by 4.3% in January. The figure is up from the 2.6% reported last week. In the Southeast/ Midwest subsystem, the variation reaches 3.2%, well above the 0.6% previously forecast. The region will once again have the highest variation, of 11.2%, followed by the North, with 4.8%. In the Northeast, cargo is expected to grow by only 0.8%.

Confirmed on January 9 by the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the presence of La Niña in the Equatorial Pacific Ocean is expected to persist throughout the summer. According to a Cliatempo projection, the phenomenon will have different impacts on the energy sector, being positive for water generation and negative for wind and solar sources, due to less intense winds and the reduction of sunny days.
